What hours will my kindergartener be at school?

All day Kindergarten. Students need to be in the building by 8:10 and in their seats by 8:15. They are then dismissed when the bell rings at 2:53.

How do I decide/know if my child is ready of kindergarten?

By law, any resident child who reaches age 5 by October 15th of the current school year, will be admitted to public school kindergarten
No qualifications or assessments are used for enrolling children who are age eligible.

How do I enroll my child?

Contact the school (436-1170)

Bring these items to school.

1. Certified Birth Certificate
2. Current Immunization Records
3. Complete Health History form filled out
4. Complete Physical and Dental Form filled out

Talk to your child - Engage them in interesting conversations that will build their vocabulary and encourage curiosity.

Encourage imaginative play

Allow your child to make choices (with your guidance) - Clothing, food, book they wish to read

Problem solving opportunities - encourage children to verbalize how they arrive at an answer or explain their thinking.

Provide social experiences with adults and with same-age peers

Provide literacy activities for your child - Read, read, read to your child.
