Dropping off and picking up students at school
Take time to be a courteous driver and keep the children safe. Give yourself plenty of time when dropping off your children at school. Remember to use the curbside parking and have children exit the vehicle on the passenger side. DO NOT stop in the driving lane in front of Roper. Please obey the No Parking Areas on the north side of the building as this is for bus use only. Students are supervised by staff after school as they walk on the sidewalk from the school to the crosswalk. To help ease traffic congestion, students may also be picked up near SW 21st and South Street. Please establish a regular pick up routine with your child and make sure they know where they will be picked up.
When is the Roper Office open?
The office will be open Monday through Friday from 7:00-4:30.
Do I need to contact the office if my child is absent for ANY reason?
Yes. This assures us that your child is ok. If the office does not receive a phone call, the student will be entered as truant and the parent/guardian will be contacted. An answering machine is available for your convenience when the office is closed.
Signing students out of school
When signing a student out of school, a parent/guardian should enter Roper through the front (east) entrance and come to the office. You will be given a blue slip to take to the teacher. If you know your child will have an appointment during school, it is very helpful to send a note to the office. They will forward it to the teacher.
